Dog owners often make their pups use the Elizabethan collar as protection after undergoing surgery. However, this e-collar has now become more popularly known as the cone of shame.
One of the reasons behind the protective collar’s popular name is because dogs are usually not happy to wear it. So, a dog mom from Toronto, Canada, decided to turn her pup’s cone of shame into something that he will be proud of.
Kaitlyn Cotter has a one-year-old dog named Gus. This little pup has been with her since he was only eight weeks old. Dressing him up is something that Kaitlyn loves to do. In the past, she has made him wear costumes like TY Beanie Baby and shark.
A few months ago, Gus was neutered; he had to wear his cone of shame. Kaitlyn got all creative again and transformed it into different costumes. She turned Gus into an astronaut, martini, basketball net, and a McDonald’s fries.
The process of making the costumes was simple. The only difficult ones were the astronaut and basketball net. Kaitlyn had to use strings and tapes on them, which made it a bit trickier to make.
The pet mom took some photos of Gus while wearing the decorated cone of shame. Then, she posted them on her social media page. The pictures received lots of positive reactions. People have been commenting on how Gus’ photos made their day.
Some commenters also pointed out that Kaitlyn must have so much time on her hands to make such costumes. However, Kaitlyn said that she had some spare time because, back then, Gus could not go out. She took advantage of that and put it into good use.
Gus’s post neutering days would have been dull. However, thanks to Kaitlyn’s creativity and Gus’ cooperation, those days were turned into beautiful moments to smile upon.
